If there were hardcore off-road vehicles in the world of robotic lawnmowers, the LUBA 3 AWD would undoubtedly be at the top of the food chain.

Facing steep 38° slopes or those dreaded wiring burial projects, the LUBA 3 AWD delivers surprisingly good performance.

It no longer relies solely on satellite signals, but is the first mass-produced model to incorporate 360° LiDAR-fused vision technology.

This means it not only knows its location on the map but also monitors the garden environment in real time.

Let’s delve into this truly capable lawnmower monster.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) System

  • This means

All four wheels have independent power output and extremely strong traction.

  • Benefits for you

Whether your garden has slippery, waterlogged lawns or undulating slopes, it remains steadfast.

It’s one of the very few machines on the market that truly solves the challenges of hilly lawns.

360° LiDAR + Visual Navigation

  • This means

Robots no longer rely solely on satellite signals for navigation.

  • Benefits for you

Many RTK robots get lost near trees or eaves, but the LUBA 3 AWD supplements its signal by scanning the surrounding environment with lasers.

Even in the shade with weak signals, it can accurately avoid obstacles and complete its task, reducing the hassle of human intervention.

Dual cutting disc design (400mm width)

  • This means

It has nearly twice the cutting area of comparable products.

  • Benefits for you

Over 50% increase in mowing efficiency.

What used to take 4 hours to mow, it can be done in less than 3 hours.

Give your lawn more time for your children and pets to play, instead of constantly listening to the machine humming.

IPX6 Full-Body Waterproof

  • This means

Extremely high sealing rating, able to withstand high-pressure water jets.

  • Benefits for you

Maintenance no longer requires careful brushing.

When it gets dirty, simply spray it with water from all sides; it can clean the grass clippings from the chassis in minutes—a lazy person’s dream.

Advantages and disadvantages

✅ Strengths

• Slope Climbing Master: Industry-leading climbing ability.

• Obstacle Avoidance: LiDAR + vision achieves a near-zero collision experience.

• High Efficiency: Dual-disk design significantly reduces operation time.

•Easy Installation: No wiring required, supports virtual boundaries and modular management.

❌ Potential Drawbacks

• Slightly Heavier: For stable climbing, it is heavier than ordinary machines, requiring more effort to move.

• Antenna Requirements: RTK base stations still need to be installed in an open area to ensure initial signal strength.

Overall score

• Performance Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – AWD + LiDAR is currently the highest configuration available

• Design: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Powerful F1 racing style

• Value for Money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The only product in its price range to offer LiDAR navigation

• Ease of Use: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Intuitive app setup, supports DropMow function

【Total Score:4.8/5.0】

Summary:

The LUBA 3 AWD not only solves the lawn mowing problem, but also the problem of “stable lawn mowing on complex terrain.”

It is currently the first choice for users with large houses and complex terrain.

Purchase recommendations and official resources

When purchasing the LUBA 3 AWD, please be sure to select the model according to your lawn area.

If you grow fast-growing long grass, we recommend choosing the high-mowing version for greater height adjustment.

Special note: What to do if the LUBA 3 signal is weak or lost?

As a device that relies on satellite and visual navigation, the LUBA 3 occasionally encounters problems.

If the app indicates a poor signal, you can quickly troubleshoot the issue by following these steps, which usually takes only 5 minutes:

1. Check the base station's line of sight

The RTK base station needs a clear view of the sky.

If nearby trees have grown taller recently, or if you’ve installed the base station under an eave for aesthetic reasons, this can lead to poor signal reception.

Ensure there are no obstructions within a 140° range above the base station.

2. Observe the robot's visual compensation

The LUBA 3 is smarter than older models because it has camera assistance.

If it stops under a tree, it’s likely because the lens is dirty, causing the visual navigation to fail.

Check the 3D vision lens on the front of the machine and wipe away any fingerprints, dirt, or cobwebs.

3. Confirm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections

Although Wi-Fi isn’t needed for mowing, if you want to see its location in real-time or change settings on the app, the network must be working.

If the app can’t connect to the robot, try moving closer to the robot and using a Bluetooth connection, or check if the Wi-Fi signal booster in your yard is powered off.

4. Eliminate environmental interference

Some metal roofs, large solar panels, or high-voltage power lines may interfere with the signal.

If the robot consistently loses the signal in a specific corner of the yard, try setting that area as a no-mow zone in the app, or slightly adjust the base station’s position.

5. The simple and effective restart method

Like a mobile phone, the system can occasionally freeze.

Turn off the robot’s power, unplug the base station’s power cord, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and restart.

This solves 80% of temporary positioning errors.

FAQ

Absolutely.

The LiDAR doesn’t rely on external light; even in the dead of night, it can clearly perceive its surroundings.

Furthermore, it’s equipped with auxiliary lighting to ensure the vision module can function properly in low light conditions.

Don’t worry!

It’s designed to climb slopes up to 38° (80%).

Its all-wheel drive system and low center of gravity chassis are designed for such extreme terrain.

Its grip is far superior to ordinary rear-wheel drive models.

This is precisely where the LUBA 3 AWD excels.

It features dual redundancy navigation with LiDAR + vision. In the instant the signal is lost, it switches to laser positioning mode to continue working or find a path, and it won’t easily stop working.

Not at all.

The dual-disc design is optimized for fluid dynamics, allowing for smoother grass shredding.

Combined with IPX6 waterproofing, maintenance is very simple; just rinse the chassis with a hose after each job.

Not at all.

You simply control your LUBA 3 AWD along the garden using the mobile app, just like operating a remote-controlled car, and the map is automatically generated. The whole process takes less than 20 minutes.
