Do I need to follow it throughout the mapping process?
Yes. During the initial “map building” process, you need to guide A1 along the edge of the lawn using the mobile app, similar to controlling a remote-controlled race car. Since it uses LiDAR, it will automatically generate a complete 3D map after this lap.
If my yard is divided into a front and back yard by a wall, can it cross between them automatically?
Yes. As long as there is a passable path between the front and back yards, you can set a “cross-area path” in the app. A1 will automatically cross non-lawn areas to move to the next area after completing one.
Will it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is mainly used for remote control via the app and firmware updates. Once a task is assigned, A1’s integrated computing system and local map are sufficient to support its independent lawn mowing tasks.
Why does it always turn a short distance from the wall?
This is to protect your structure and machinery. LiDAR solutions typically have a safety buffer zone of about 10-15cm. If you are aiming for the best wall-edge effect, it is recommended to use a manual trimmer for occasional clearing.
Can it detect and avoid dog poop on the ground?
This is a challenge. While the A1 can detect more than 11 types of large obstacles, the LiDAR may not be able to accurately detect very flat and small objects. It is recommended to clear small debris from the lawn before mowing.
Will it automatically stop working on rainy days?
Yes. The A1 is equipped with a sensitive rain sensor. When rainfall is detected, it will automatically return to its charging dock. After the rain stops and the lawn dries, it will return to the location where it was interrupted and resume operation.
Will mowing at night disturb the neighbors?
Virtually not. The A1’s operating noise is below 60dB, far lower than that of fuel-powered or ordinary electric lawnmowers. Because it doesn’t rely on sunlight, its working efficiency at night is exactly the same as during the day.
